Frequently Asked Questions

Has the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) made it to Utah?

Not yet, but expect the Emerald Ash Borer to be here soon.

Why should I care about Ash Trees?

Trees are one of the most important aspects to our quality of life. They provide oxygen, decrease temperatures in the summer and help increase your property value.

If we don’t do something now we may lose all of the Ash Trees in Utah.

Can I keep my Ash tree if its not infected yet?

Yes you can, but you need to treat your ash at least every 1 to 2 years. We recommend contacting a preferred licensed arborist.

What our my options if my Ash Tree can’t be treated.

If you can’t treat your Ash tree, we recommend that you contact a preferred licensed arborist to remove the infected Ash Tree and dispose of it correctly so that you minimize the effect on your other Ash trees.

Is the Ash tree still a good choice for future trees in my yard?

No, we don’t recommend the planting of Ash trees. There are a variety of other tree species that you can plant in your yard that can’t be infected by EAB.
